Spotlight on Statues [SDCC 2010]

There are times when I think buying statues is the dumbest waste of money ever (usually when I'm broke). And then there are times when I'd have no problem forking over $300 for a statue of a woman in a metal bikini (usually after payday). At base, they're big, pretty and very expensive paperweights, but damn, I'd love to own every single big pretty useless piece of awesome being displayed in the convention!

Guys and Dolls [SDCC 2010]

Tonner constantly releases beautiful dolls, and suprisingly, some of the males out-shine the females! Prince Dastan from Prince of Persia is GORGEOUS! He shined brighter than even Jessica Rabbit! Though some of them are too pretty for their own good (like Hal Jordan and his soft pretty hair).

Also in this post, you'll find some Barbies I actually liked! And some pictures of MOTUC figures, because I'm not dedicating an entire post to them alone, har har.

Spotlight on Marvel [SDCC 2010]

Having so many characters displayed in an action-packed scene is a great way to entice fans into buying Marvel Universe figures. There is no question that the diorama looked great and made me want to collect all the MU figures, but the asking price is still not acceptable, especially when it feels like all the figures are repainted clones of each other.

Spotlight on DC Direct [SDCC 2010]

There are many cool statues and figures coming from DC Direct, though unfavorable lightning and stuffed memory-cards prevented me from taking a satisfactory photographic inventory of them. It's poor form to blame your equipment, but hey, I'm a rotten dude! Just look at that weirdo name of mine, I can never be up to any good.

Unconventional Thoughts - Day 2 [SDCC 2010]

Make no mistake, SDCC is an experience, whether it's enJoyable and/or productive depends entirely on how crafty, how rude, and sometimes how deceptive you're willing to be.

Spotlight on DC Universe [SDCC 2010]

Na-na na-na na-na na-na dee cee you seeeeee! Some classic Batman characters and ugly-bum Yellow Lanterns grace SDCC, along with new articulation, bulky JLU characters and a pretty head sculpt on Staurn Girl.

Cosplay Collection - Part 1 [SDCC 2010]

[TAO's Note: Everyone knows the best thing about a convention isn't all the new toy reveals, or free swag, or even those ever-so-desirable convention exclusives. So take your time and browse this collection of fantastic cosplay pictures from the San Diego Comic Con floor, brought to you by the ever-attentive DrNightmare.]

The Shock of My Life [SDCC 2010]

The joys in life are far and few between, when they are presented to you, you must covet them like a jealous pirate guards his favorite sea-wench. (And yeah, Bad title is bad, haha...)

Unconventional Thoughts - Day 1 [SDCC 2010]

I had fun Thursday.

Have you ever run through a crowd only to realize you haven't gotten very far at all? Darting this way and that, avoiding runaway super-heroes, every step a zig-zag closer to where you really want to be? You can't plan a comic-con schedule, and quickly learn to change your plans as you go instead. There aren't enough hours in the day to cover every exciting event, at least not without sacrificing interviews and other in-depth reports that go beyond photography.

"T" is for Toys - "C" is for Customs

Do you enjoy destroying your action figures only to rebuild them into something bigger, meaner, more spiky!, than before? Do you feel the need to add more barrels to Cable's gun because more barrels equals MORE POWER?! Do you enjoy the sharp tang of paint-fumes? If you've answered yes to any of the questions above, then you're a perfect candidate for customizing! So wipe that glue off your nose, huffy, and read this article!

"T" is for Toys - "A" is for Animosity

Like most posts I contribute to AD, little thought is placed into them before they're published. Their purpose is sometimes lost, but at least they're bound to entertain a handful of our readers. Welcome to my newest foray into the unknown, with a new series of articles whose destiny is uncertain at best, and at worst makes you feel very uncomfortable. It's time for me to step away from lengthy reviews, to go back to basics, and what's more basic than the alphabet?
