Commercial Superiority - Constructicons vs. Dinobots

The classic Transformers commercial being featured today means a heck of a lot to me. I had all of these fellows some time later in my youth, and loved them like nothing else. And although I enjoyed both sides, I showed some slight favoritism towards the side with Dinosaurs (how can you blame me?). Read on to see the Dinobots exhibit their:

The following commercial starts off with some bigtime Constructicon love. They build up Devastator to be one heck of a brawler, but as you'll see, that's only temporary. Once Grimlock and the gang show up, the winner between these two groups is quite clear, even shown right in the video.

"...in big trouble" indeed. Grimlock crunches down on that first constructicon, and it's obvious who wins here. It even shows the Dinobots pushing Devastator right off a cliff. The pun-filled warning, "...blast those Decepticons into extinction" might be aimed at the wrong group, and a little sad (in remembrance of all the lost Dinosaur brethren), though it's pretty clear the Dinobots mean business here. And if I remember correctly from old Generation 1 episodes, it took the Dinobots to beat Devastator the first time, so this notion of Dinobot superiority is not only commercial accurate, but cartoon accurate.

And let's  be honest, dinosaurs vs. construction vehicles? I think everyone knows dinosaurs win that fight 999 times out of 1000. But make it robot dinosaurs vs. construction vehicles, and the probability of a Dinobot win is practically 1.

In my childhood imagination, Grimlock alone would have ripped through all the constructicons, enjoying a Devastator omelette the next morning.

Although it will be filled with Decepticon propaganda, you can head over to battlegrip.com for a different story.
