[TAO: In a timely and touching piece of work, DrNightmare honors the life of pitchman Billy Mays with this somewhat somber edition of:]
It is in no way hard to believe that Hercules from Marvel Legends was based on our loveably-charismatic infomercial-hero William Darrel Mays, known to the world as Billy Mays. Rarely have one of our long hard days not been brightened by the glimmer in his eye and the sparkle of his honest smile. He was larger than life, and now has finally broken free from its shackles, to prove once and for all that he could sell bleach to God and fire to the Devil himself.
Unbound courage and enthusiasm runs rampant through the Olympian Prince and explodes from his grin, as it does through Mays's equally-epic grill. They could have been brothers!
While the golden Orange-Glo of lesser men may fade with time, dirt, and grime, you Billy Mays were the Mighty Putty that held together the minds and souls of the American people in the war against bland infomercials and all things un-clean. Your passing has put a dark stain on our hearts, one that will not be so easily scrubbed away. Billy, you will be missed.
