Today was probably the most productive toy-shopping day I have ever had, and in honor of this wonderful occasion, I thought I'd introduce a new feature here on Articulated Discussion. Here's where I'll list all the toys I manage to track down in one day. though you may never see an edition as robust as this one again. Pay close attention, because upcoming reviews could possibly be divined from the mystical contents of these posts. Without further ado, welcome to the first ever:
As the dedicated AD readers may know, I managed to discover two of my much needed DCUC figures at Wal-Mart today: Killer Moth and Shazam. Pile those guys on top of the two DCIH figures I decided to pick up, Spectre and Batman, and you've already got an amazing day of shopping in my neck of the woods. Believe it or not, the fun didn't stop there because the real treat was what I found at Target later in the day.
A DCUC Series 3 Sinestro Corps Sinestro was hanging all by himself on a cold steel peg. This Target rarely had any DCUC, though I recently spotted two standard Sinestros and asssumed my luck was out at this store, with wave 6 already stealing shelf space at other establishments. It was as if the stock boy knew this was the only DCUC figure that I didn't have and placed him there upon the golden peg just for me. Turning around with my prize in tow led me to yet another discovery, GI Joe Resolute Two Packs tucked away on the very back of a peg. I may have very well ruined someone's day by claiming them as my own, but you'll find no regrets.
Something tells me I should've stopped by a random home, broke into the basement and found a full set of perfect carded Super Powers figures wrapped in golden bubble-wrap, with a note saying only "They're yours".
Please don't expect every Toy Haul to be this ...enduring, but I did want to celebrate this first one with a nice little tale.
