The next figure up for review in DC Unlimited's World of Warcraft Series 3 is the Human Priestess Sister Benedron. This figure, like the rest is totally limited in movement but beautiful in form. Despite her shortcomics, she's still an okay figure that might just draw your attention.

Sculpt
Sister Benedron is sculpted beautifully. World of Warcraft is a game that oozes design style and this character carries it over perfectly. She just looks great with a perfect profile and tons of details. Her armor is elegant and gorgeous with small patterns around the edges, interesting curves everywhere you look, and a flowing gown around her legs. It looks regal and appropriately priest-like without losing the appearance of being battle ready. Her face is a simple sculpt that works well with the complexity of the rest of the figure. Her stances works well for both looks and functionality, as she stands quite easily and still looks impressive. She comes with a giant ax/mace attached to a chain around her waste that has a very cool sculpted design with a face and huge blades. Her wings look a geometric compared to the rest of her costume, but they are simply a part of her armor, and not intended to look real. I love this sculpt and think this figure just looks wonderful.
Sculpt Score: 10 / 10 - Everything done right, great pose, amazing amount of crisp details, great accessory sculpts.
Paint
Sister Benedron's paint is a little less perfect than her sculpt but still quite good. She has a perfect color scheme, black, white, and gold. It looks preistly, holy, and angelic with a tinge of evil coming through, much like a shadow priest should. Some of the applications here aren't up to par, with slop around small details of the costume like the gold pattern work on her chest and hips. It's better than average, but not great. She has an interesting very subtle dirty wash over some of the white of her costume, particularly the more armor like parts at her shoulders and forearms and this gives them a nice effect when paired with the sculpted battle scars. The accessories are both well painted, especially the book.
Paint Score: 9 / 10 - Great color choices that work well together, good paint effects in places, a bit of slop in tight areas.

Articulation
Sister Bendron isn't really an "action" figure at all, since she can't move in the slightest. The closest thing she has to articulation is the real chain hanging about her waste which flops around a little. There are no joints on this figure so she really operates as a statue more than a toy. A few really easy points of articulation could've been added to really up the fun in this figure. Even just waist, neck, and bicep cuts alone could've functioned very easily, but DC Direct wasn't willing to put them in. I think they chose to do so for a reason, being that they're trying to establish a certain visual style, not make playable kids' toys, but even collectors like to pose and play a bit too.
Articulation Score: 1 / 10 - Absolutely no articulation, but at least they had a reason to leave it out.
Fun
This figure looks good and I'm going to be proud to place her on a shelf somewhere, but that's where the fun ends. She is virtually useless to play with and I can't pose her anyway except the way she is, so that joy won't last long. There are some cool accessories here that would be great for other toys to use (assuming you're willing to tear her mace off, because I can't figure out how to remove it safely) but they're not much fun on her since she can't even hold one of them. A lot of kids would see this as nothing more than a fancy doll their mom would like and not a toy. Having no articulation is the biggest drawback here and the only thing she's saved by is a beautiful design that's simply fun to look at.
Fun Score: 4 / 10 - Great design that's a joy to see, fun to pose on a shelf once, no articulation or play value.

Value
This toy cost me about $15 and that's about the least you'll be able to give for her until she goes on sale in the future. You're getting a relatively tall figure with a number of accessories that's very solid and hard plastic that feels like it could last through a short round of bombing. Small things like the real chain also up the sense of value. She's very well made and it's obvious someone has paid attention to the design and development of this figure, so she won't feel like a ripoff. As long as you're willing to accept a figure with no articulation that just looks good on your shelf she's quite valuable, particularly to any World of Warcraft or general fantasy fans.
Value Score: 9 / 10 - Very well made, high quality figure, comes with a lot of accessories, more fun would be more valuable.

Overall Score: 66 / 100 - This is an Okay Toy
You won't find a ton of fun or articulation in Sister Benedron, but you will see a wonderful sculpt and superb paint that's worth her price tag.
P.S. This could be the figure I'm giving away this month, just leave a comment for a chance to win (if he's the one).
