After my most recent trip to Wal-Mart, I think I can live a happy life even if my eyes never look at Power Girl again. I never imagined saying those wods, but I think you'll see what I mean in the latest edition of:
Wal-Mart Toy Count - January 28th
134 - DC Universe Classics Wave 10 Figures
There were so many DCUC Wave 10 figures that, with my rough calculations, I could have built a tower 35 feet tall with all the packages stacked on top of one another. Probably 50% or more of the Wave 10 figures were Power Girls, meaning I never need to see another Power Girl toy to die satisfied. Let's just take a look at all the figures, and remember, all of these photos are from one Wal-Mart store taken on the exact same day.
First up is that enormous endcap with 93 figures in it. I can count 13 Power Girls just in the front row! This would have been a much more welcome sight in October, but now it just means I'll never buy a new DCUC figure locally.
Just around the corner was this hidden set of pegs, also proudly housing DCUC Wae 10. That's 4 more Power Girls visible, with 28 figures total.
And then just down another aisle, there's one more stash of Wave 10, but only 13 figures made their way onto these particular pegs.
13 - Transformers Masterpiece Skywarp Figures
Although these numbers don't exactly rival those of the multitude of Power Girls, 13 figures are a lot for a $60 item that isn't all that popular with the general buying public. I already have a Masterpiece Skywarp, and love it to death, but that doesn't mean the average Wal-Mart mom will be grabbed by its $60 price tag. These were all in the clearance aisle already, so maybe the price will actually be dropped to match the location (I hate that they plop stuff in the clearance aisle at its normal price)
23 - Star Trek 4 Inch Figures
I'm not a big Star Trek fan, but this store had 23 figures at just over $3 apiece, so if you are looking for some cheap custom fodder or just want to fill out your Star Trek collection, you might want to take a trip to your local store and see if they have the same. Interestingly the 6 inch figures were full price just on the other side of the aisle.
