Articulated Discussion Toy Haul - SDCC Exclusive GI Joe: Rise of Cobra Baroness

Toy Haul - SDCC Exclusive GI Joe: Rise of Cobra Baroness

I figured there was no reason to hide the identity of today's haul because it's the beautiful SDCC exclusive 12 inch GI JOE: ROC Baroness figure, and I'm proud of her. Hasbro was kind enough to send out this surprise a little early, as Baroness can only be purchased at the San Diego Comic Con starting next week. My first impressions indicate she's an amazing figure (full review coming tomorrow), so read on to take a gander at her yourself. It's all right here in another edition of:

You might be thinking, "12 inch figures at Articulated Discussion, that's new", and you might be right. Baroness here will be the first 1:6 scale figure to hit AD, but not the last, because I actually have a few 12 inch GI Joe figure reviews lined up, and hopefully even more larger toys in the future as finances permit. I think this was a great one to start with (thanks Hasbro), because Baroness will wow you as soon as you see the packaging.

Baroness is packaged in an outer cardboard sleeve that's black and white with some short descritptive/biographical text on the back and an SDCC label in the upper corner to let you know that this is an exclusive item. The cobra emblem is actually not printed, but a part of the "coffin" that slides out from this cardboard sleeve (seen below).

This is a really nice display case if you decide to keep Barnoess locked inside. It's got a nice weight, has magnetic closures, and opens up to a beautiful piece of art, as well as a cool looking figure on a striking red tray. I particularly love the matching pistols above her head.

I'm tempted to place her right back in the box as she is now after I complete my review. The artwork seems to be removeable (I need more time to check (this was written in a hurry)), and has a great classic propaganda style. Baroness is definitely a step above the other GI Joe 12 inch figures I have so far, but come back tomorrow to see just how well she fares outside of this great packaging. And if you want one of your own, be sure to check out the Hasbro booth if you're heading to SDCC or check my sponsors for extras after the show!

Let me know if you plan on picking her up yourself.
